Mark your first bracket (k) on a piece of 1×8. Mark a level line where the recessed bookcases will go into the wall. File the ends of the steel pins so they slide easily into the holes in the floor.

Use wood glue and 1 3/4″ wood screws to assemble the fixed shelves to side 1. Hold the trim on a bookcase leg, attached tightly against the wall. Look for the biggest gap in between the wall and the trim.
I Used 1×12’S For The Side Pieces.
To trim out the side panels and give it a little visual interest, i glued and brad nailed 1x2s and 1x3s onto the sides. Temporary stringer from the first unit to the second, making sure the standards are perfectly parallel. Then i nailed and glued on the piece of mdf for the top.
