I love to decorate with Red White and Blue as they are such moving and beautiful colors. They can really make a table look so festive. This year I am re-purposing things like old jeans to help set the mood of a country 4th of July celebration.

I have used the back pockets of the jeans as silverware holders, I cut off the waistband and glued it onto the edge a red cake plate for a new look! I have used some of my red white and blue napkin rings (that I sell on my blog) in a myriad of ways.

on old root beer bottles with American Flags stuck in them and piled them around the centerpiece for a fun new look as well as used them in sets of three… red, white and blue on red napkins.

When setting the table I always try to use height instead of everything laying flat on the table. I use footed bowls or cake plates to elevate the food and make it stand out. I love using cloth napkins as they really make my guests feel special and it helps me to be “green” by not using paper ones.

Using a unique centerpiece really helps set the mood and just by looking around the house and thinking outside of the box you can come up with fun ideas! Think about using picture frames filled with family photos or maybe a few salad plates stacked on top of each other placed on a cake plate with a darling birds nest topped with a glass cloche!

A simple grocery store purchased flower bouquet is show stopping when you separate the flowers out and line up a few simple glass vases or canning jars and only place one flower in each glass jar and then line them all up in the center of the table. Stop by my blog and see all the other fun and creative ways to set your 4th of July table.

Whatever you decide to do to celebrate the fourth make it simple and enjoyable and most of all spend it with the ones you love. Red White and Blue, Watermelon, Homemade ice cream, Burgers grilling on the grill and then the finale…fireworks! It just does not get much better than that does it?

I love the 4th of July and all it encompasses with celebrating our freedom and thinking about all those that have gone before us and sacrificed so much….even their very lives so that we can enjoy the beauty and freedom here in the United States of America.
